Longtucky Spirits will raise yours

Longtucky Spirits is a popular craft distillery in Longmont, Colorado, featuring local ingredients, owner built equipment, and a festive cocktail lounge. Having just celebrated their first anniversary, Longtucky has already amassed this impressive list of bottlings:

Longtucky Silver

Using the locally historical ingredient of sugar beets, Longtucky Silver is a Colorado-style rum made with 75% Colorado sugar beet sugar and 25% Florida organic molasses. They use a sour mash process, recycling some of each batch into the next one in order to create its depth of flavors. Its aroma carries a welcome sweetness with notes of tropical fruit. There are elements of dark bread and molasses, but its structure is clean with light, with earthy spices and a gently finish of toasted coconut.

Shine

Corn for this unaged Western style whiskey is grown at nearby Schlagel Farm and the barley is malted at Root Shoot Malting in Loveland. This clear “white dog” makes an excellent entry level whiskey and is excellent for cocktailing.

Fire

Unlike some brands that rely on artificial flavoring or contain glycol, this variant of their Shine corn whiskey is a party favorite finished with real cinnamon and ginger for an authentic, true taste.

Longtucky Gin

This Alpine dry style gin is distilled with locally sourced juniper, spruce tip, sage, coriander, and lavender for a uniquely Colorado botanical profile. It will really open up your next martini or tonic.

Lusca Spiced Rum

Like Silver, Lusca is made with local grains and snowmelt from Longs Peak, infused with black cardamom, vanilla, orange, mace, allspice and clove. Lusca makes a hearty addition to any warm rum recipe or tiki punch.

For a fun session, check out their tasting room, the Longtucky Lounge, at 350 Terry Street, #120, just east of Main Street.
