Girard Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc

Girard sourced the fruit for this Sauvignon Blanc from its special namesake vineyard in St. Helena, just across the road from the Culinary Institute of America. This vineyard in the heart of this renowned Napa Valley AVA produces just the bright, tropical fruit flavors that they seek for their Sauvignon Blanc.

The 2017 growing season was a bit of a roller-coaster for the winery, with heavy winter rains leading to vigorous vine growth in spring. Bloom came early to the vineyard with an unparalleled range of springtime temperatures. Early moderate summer temperatures gave way to several heat waves throughout the summer and into fall, heightening the rate of ripening and flavor development in the grapes, and ushering in in a slightly early harvest.

Girard Sauvignon Blanc’s nose is vibrant with citrus zest aromas, melon, and tropical fruits. On the palate, a zingy acidity is balanced by tangerine, kiwi, and lime flavors with a hint of honeydew melon. A refreshing balance of acidity and fruit linger on its crisp clean finish.

Girard Sauvignon Blanc is worth it on its own, but really shines with food. Experience it with crab cakes, grilled prawns, oysters, or a crunch summer salad.

As Coloradoans look to entertain through the summer season, you can find wines like this at larger, locally family-owned liquor store, like Wyatt’s, which offers you a superior selection with knowledgeable staff who will help you find the perfect wine for any occasion.
