Wyatt’s Wet Goods rolls out its private barrel selection whiskey exclusives

A growing trend in the whiskey industry involves barrel select programs which offer retailers an opportunity to directly purchase bourbon with individualized flavor profiles for their customers. Usually only a handful of special, one-of-a-kind whiskey barrels are available or offered for purchase.

Drinking clubs, bottle hunters, bars, restaurants, and retailers line up to get in on the action, and competition for certain brands can be stiff.

This year, Wyatt’s has three distinct, handpicked barrels of whiskey they had exclusively bottled for their customers:

Stranahan’s Colorado Whiskey

This small batch American single malt has aromas that include cereal, almond paste, sweet smoke, a touch of banana and fresh cut wood. The taste is very unique with notes of vanilla, coffee, cedar, fig and cinnamon delivered in one of the creamiest, most satisfying mouthfeels of any whiskey around. After bottling, Wyatt’s barrel was donated to local favorite Wibby Brewing for a future barrel-aged brewing project.

Maker’s Mark Private Select Bourbon

Wyatt’s owner chose the exclusive oak stave influences on this cask strength beauty. The custom recipe includes wood influences from baked American oak and seared French Cuvee staves with a touch of toasted French spice.

Four Roses Single Barrel

Due to the massive popularity of their private barrel program, there aren’t many bottles left from this strong, flavorful original, but Wyatt’s is in the process of securing a new barrel choice soon. Get it while you can—it’s an ideal holiday gift for any bourbon lover.

You can find get these exclusives at Wyatt’s as we enter the winter whiskey collecting season. This large, family-owned liquor store caters to the discriminating whiskey drinker, as well as those just beginning their fine malt journey.
