Friday Beer Tasting – Badger’s Brews

Continuing in a series of Staff Favorites, this Friday it’s “Badger’s Brews”.

On Friday, May 31, 2019, Wyatt’s is sampling:

  • Funkwerks Saison: With a recipe born from backyard test batches, the Saison that sits before you today is a GABF gold-medal winning beer. Heavily reliant on flavors and aromas generated by our house yeast, this beer exemplifies the care we take in every aspect of our brewing process. Go ahead and delight in Saison’s beautiful orange hue, bright effervescence and notes of passion fruit, tangerine, and spices. 6.8% ABV, 25 IBUs.
  • Uhl’s Wayward Hop #4: Wayward Hop is Uhl’s collection of Double Dry Hopped Double IPAs brewed in the New England style. They are highlighted by a soft mouthfeel, a bit of sweetness, just the right amount of malt flavor, and all the juiciness they can squeeze out of their hop melodies. Volume Four was brewed with Citra, El Dorado and Simcoe Hops. 8.2% ABV.
  • Crooked Stave St. Von Pilsner: Super soft water, traditional floor malted barley & the finest German hops, make this unfiltered, traditional style keller pilsner entirely crushable. 5% ABV.
  • Upslope Blackberry Lemon Sour: With bright and beautiful red hue, this American Wild Ale has an aroma of dried thyme and sweet lemons. The aroma leads into a clean and crisp tartness with a strong blackberry and lemon backbone. Sessionable at 4.2% ABV, 17 IBUs.

Tasting hours for Friday, May 31st event will be from 4-6:45 pm., at Wyatt’s Outlaw Saloon, in the back of the store.

Friday Beer Tasting – Sarah’s Colorado Crushers

This Friday, April 26, 2019, Wyatt’s continues in a series of Staff Favorites. This week, it’s Sarah’s Colorado Crushers, celebrating some vibrant local beers.

This week’s selections include:

303 Lager, Station 26 Brewing: Their bright and easy-drinking golden lager–as easygoing as Colorado. 5.0% ABV, 14 IBUs.

Tangerine Cream, Station 26 Brewing: It’s their beloved Colorado Cream Ale plus tangerine and vanilla bean. Citrusy and sweet and perfect for summer! 5.2% ABV, 15 IBUs.

Single By Choice, New Image Brewing: Focusing on one hop and all the interesting aspects it brings to the brew process, this rotating specialty profiles different throughout the year. 5% ABV.

Princess Yum Yum, Denver Beer Company: This is a traditional Kolsch fermented with real raspberries, resulting in a ruby red fruity summer ale that finishes tart and dry—perfect on a warm day. 4.8% ABV.

Friday Beer Tasting – Staff Favorites: Riley’s Send-Off Picks

This Friday, April 19, 2019, Wyatt’s continues in a series of Staff Favorites. This week, our outgoing Beer Manager Riley shares some of his picks.

Congratulations to Riley for his service and all his efforts. We wish him well as he moves into greener pastures closer to his new home.

This week’s selections include:

A Salted Cucumber, Stem Ciders of Denver: Dry hopped with cascade & citra hops and finished with fresh cucumber juice and sea salt. Crafted with 100% fresh pressed apples from the Pacific Northwest. 6.7% ABV.

Ching Ching, Bend Brewing: Wonderfully tart and effervescent, Ching Ching goes equally well with a day at the beach or a 5 course meal. Ching Ching Sour Ale has garnered numerous awards over the years at GABF and World Beer Cup and is recognized as one of the pioneering beers to utilize the kettle souring technique and help define American Sour Ales. 4.5% ABV, 5 IBUs.

Melvin IPA, Melvin Brewing, Alpine Wyoming: Fruity, Intense, but not bitter, this is a West Coast-style IPA made with secret hops and a fresh blast of citrus. 7.5% ABV, 80 IBUs.

El Jefe – Four Noses Brewing, Broomfield, CO: A crowd favorite in the taproom, this is a velvety smooth stout with a delightful roasted coffee backbone. Features coffee from Colorado’s own Two Rivers Coffee Company. 7.4% ABV.

Wyatt’s IPA Madness 2019 – Round Three

IPA MADNESS CONTINUES!

In this Third Round of Wyatt’s annual IPA taste competition, where you the discriminating beer drinker pick the favorite!

This year Wyatt’s is focusing better on offering everyone a chance to discover a new favorite. Join us for open, non-blind tasting all month long as we explore the wonderfullness that is the IPA category.

For Week Three, Wyatt’s dives face first into the Haze Craze.

IPA Madness Round Three:

  1. River North Mountain Haze IPA – Denver, Colorado: A New England-style IPA with barley, wheat, oats, and an avalanche of Citra hops. 6.5% ABV.
  2. Odd13 Codename: Superfan IPA – Lafayette, Colorado: Highlighting Citra, Simcoe, and Ekuanot. 6.5% ABV.
  3. New Image Coriolis Effect IPA – Arvada, Colorado: Pairing up New Zealand’s Motueka hop with Citra, New Image brought together their blend of melon, tropical, and stonefruits and added a dry hop of Columbus to bring those voluptuous flavors to the surface. Sweet on the first sip while finishing dry, this beer brings an understated elegance to the standard IPA. 6.5% ABV.
  4. Weldwerks Juicy Bits IPA – Greeley, Colorado: Their version of a New England-style IPA featuring a huge citrus and tropical fruit character from the Mosaic, Citra, and El Dorado hops, a softer, fluffier mouthfeel from the lower attenuation, and the characteristic New England hop haze. The end result is a beer reminiscent of citrus juice with extra pulp, thus the name Juicy Bits. 6.5% ABV.

Tasting hours for this special month-long IPA event will be Fridays through March from 4-6:45 pm, at Wyatt’s Outlaw Saloon, in the back of the store.
