The Originals Wine blends history with innovation

Washington state winemakers The Originals source and blend quality fruit from across Washington’s best growing sections, including Horse Heaven Hills, Yakima Valley, and the Wahluke Slope, to provide balanced, quality wines with a focus on being food friendly.

These grapes are grown in regions that share the same latitude, climate, and soil growing conditions as their vines’ original ancestry.

They produce several varietals of wine, including Chardonnay, Merlot, Syrah, Pinot Noir, and a highly versatile red blend. Of exceptional note are their Cabernet Sauvignon and Riesling.

The Originals Cabernet Sauvignon is a warm and cozy Cab which shows flavors and aromas of cedar-wrapped cherries, with a dusting of wet tobacco and smoky notes of grilled meat, finishing with blackberry compote. This wine exhibits all the best from its fruit for a Cabernet with a refined, medium-weight body. It is perfect both on its own and with a hearty winter meal.

The Originals Riesling is as fresh and crisp as just-pressed linens. This citrusy, mineral-driven Riesling is a racy quencher, perfect when paired with spicy Asian entrees. Its zesty lemon, grapefruit, and Kaffir lime leaf aromas lead with a welcoming nose, layered with flavors of honeyed nectarines on the mid-palate. It displays a round mouthfeel, finishing with a cleansing minerality. This Riesling makes a great equalizer for piquant or pepper-laden foods, or accompanying a dessert like sweet potato pie.
