Stadler Springs Kentucky Whiskey

The beginning of the year is typically a slow period for whiskey releases, yet one of the most popular months for The Brown due to the weather. If you’re looking for a new, relaxed winter warmer, consider Stadler Springs Kentucky Whiskey.

Opening with a beautiful dark amber color and aromas of brown sugar and apricot, its palate is delicate, featuring sweet oak, molasses, and lightly toasted almonds. An elegant spirit best served neat, Stadler Springs gets better with each sip. 92 Points, Wine & Spirits Guild of America. 40% ABV.

This meticulously blended Kentucky whiskey is distinctively rich and smooth. It works well for both casual shots or in mixing. Try it at your next poker game, playoff viewing party, or barbecue. It pairs nicely with smoked meat.

You can check out Stadler Springs at Wyatt’s Wet Goods, your local destination liquor store.

Basil Hayden’s Bourbon is a smooth addition to your bar

Basil Hayden’s is truly a small batch bourbon with broad appeal. Basil Hayden’s Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is made from a mash very similar to the original recipe developed in 1796, when master distiller Basil Hayden used a traditional corn base but mixed in small grains with the mash.

A bartending favorite, it has a golden amber color and a spicy aroma of breakfast tea and peppermint bark. On the palate, the rye grains are evident, as are notes of cracked pepper and honey with just a touch of mint. The finish is clean and dry, leaving a pleasant aftertaste of cinnamon and baking spices.

Although it is ideally served neat, or simply with ice on a hot afternoon, Basil Hayden will enhance any Manhattan or Smash cocktail.

A bottle of basil Hayden won’t break the bank either, but it will fix your reputation as a bourbon connoisseur, so raise a glass with a quality dram like Basil Hayden’s.

Locally, you can get yours, as well as a host of traditional and Colorado whiskies, at large, family-owned liquor stores, like Wyatt’s Wet Goods, that maintain vast whiskey and spirits sections for your enjoyment.

Jeffers Creek Bourbon makes quite a splash

Are you looking for a new, but impressive, bourbon that has the versatility for both personal sipping and social gatherings?

Try Jeffers Creek. This elegant Kentucky Straight Bourbon is aged for six years in new, charred American oak barrels, this whiskey features a sweet nose of vanilla citrus and syrup with a palate of sweet corn. The finish is elegant with notes of sweet vanilla toned by dry toasty oak.

Give it a shot with smoked meats, BBQ chicken, or a good slice of pecan pie for dessert. It’s also a fun share around the poker table or as a reward for shoveling your driveway.

Due to limited stock runs, Jeffers Creek can be tough to find. You will have better success at larger, family-owned liquor stores, like Wyatt’s, that cater to the discriminating whisky drinker, as well as those just beginning their fine malt journey.

Four Grain Straight Bourbon BOTTLED IN BOND

Bottling in Bond requires that this limited release be a product of a single season, using the grain of a single season, made by one distiller at a single distillery, and aged at least 4 years in a federal government-bonded warehouse. The whiskey is then cut and bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV). These rules are significantly more stringent than the U.S. standards for “Straight Whiskey.”
