Bogle’s Phantom, the much sought-after and spirited blend of ripe berry and relentless spice, has just returned to bewitch wine lovers. Full of fruit concentration and intensity, this tantalizing red blend lingers long after the last sip is gone.
On the palate, wild berries and black pepper are framed by the influence of twenty-four months of American oak aging, with baking spices and a hint of toasty vanilla adding a delightful complexity.
The Phantom carries a grape composition of 42% Petite Sirah, 34% Zinfandel, 14% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Merlot. Full bodied, but not heavy, the firm, finely grained tannins in the structure of this premium red wine blend make it ideal for any hearty dinner or celebration.
After being unavailable in our area for several months, the 2014 Red was just released in late August. Also, due to popular demand, Bogle has introduced Phantom Chardonnay.
The new Phantom Chardonnay entices with its rich layers. Opening elements of green apple and pear transform into spice flavors of freshly baked apple pie, while barrel fermentation imparts a luscious, creamy mouthfeel. The use of French oak adds notes of vanilla and melted caramel.
You can capture Phantom before it disappears, as well as a variety of new weekly releases, at large local wine stores that offer you a superior wine and spirit selection and knowledgeable, helpful customer service, like Wyatt’s Wet Goods in Longmont.
Wyatt’s is showcasing Bogle’s Phantom wines in our free Saturday tasting this weekend, noon to 4:45 pm, September 16th. As always, all tasting items will also be on sale!
