As the son of renowned vintners Michael and Isabel Mondavi, Rob Mondavi, Jr.’s passion for wine began more than 30 years ago while playing among the vines and wine barrels on his parents’ Napa Valley estate, Robert Mondavi Winery.
At the age of 12, he started his first job under Tony Coltrin, the Mondavi Winery’s current director of winemaking, immersing himself in the business and absorbing every detail. Rob took every opportunity, including summer breaks from the University of Santa Clara, to work at and learn from the family business.
