For Week Four, Wyatt’s brings you the West Coast Classics.
IPA Madness Round Four:
- Firestone Walker Union Jack IPA – Paso Robles, California: This aggressively hopped West Coast IPA showcases stunning pineapple, citrus and piney aromas along with exceptional dry hop flavors of grapefruit and tangerine. This intense brew finds its balance in honey-like pale malt sweetness. The name Union Jack is a nod to the colonial origins of the IPA style, and to the British expatriate who co‐founded their brewery. 7.0% ABV, 60 IBU.
- Deschutes Fresh-Squeezed IPA – Bend, Oregon: A juicy citrus and grapefruit flavor profile. Tastes as if fresh Citra and Mosaic hops were squeezed straight into the bottle. 6.4% ABV, 60 IBU.
- Breakside IPA – Portland, Oregon: This beautifully clear India Pale Ale features Citra and Chinook hops. This light copper beer has huge citrus and tropical fruit aromas, with hints of perfume and pine. Flavors of apricot, guava, and orange hit the tongue accompanied by a mild evergreen note. There’s just enough caramel sweetness to balance the hop flavors, but this is really a showcase for the beautiful varieties of hops grown in the Northwest. 6.2% ABV, 73 IBU.
- Fremont Lush IPA – Seattle, WA: Lush is brewed with a hand-selected blend of malts and lush, tropical hops reminiscent of lime, mango, and guava. 7.0% ABV, 80 IBU.
Tasting hours for this special month-long IPA event will be Fridays through March from 4-6:45 pm, at Wyatt’s Outlaw Saloon, in the back of the store.
