Wyatt’s IPA Madness 2017 – Round Three

March 17, 2017 @ 4:00 pm - 6:45 pm

What better way to kick off your St. Patrick’s weekend than with a beer contest?

Join us for the Third Round of  our annual IPA taste competition, where you, the discriminating beer drinker, pick the winner!

Wyatt’s is giving you the chance to win a flat screen TV! If you pick the winners in each each weekly bracket, you will be entered in a drawing for one of two flat screen TVs.
Even if you don’t pick all of the winners, you can still enjoy the event by tasting the field and entering into the drawing for a second TV!

Each week we will also offer a special pack of that week’s four competing beers.

For full rules and instructions, check out this WYATT’S IPA MADNESS link.

Welcome to Round Three:

Firestone Luponic Distortion: True to form, the latest version Luponic Distortion Revolution is driven by a mix of five different hop varieties, led by an emerging American cultivar from the Yakima region. Together, these hops deliver a complex spectrum of ripe tropical fruit aromas with notes of guava, mango, pineapple, orange, blackberry, green tea and Meyer lemon. In true Luponic Distortion fashion, bitterness is moderate but snappy, with a balance of light malty-bready sweetness and a soft mouthfeel.  5.9% ABV, 59 IBUs.

Boostrap Insane Rush: A perfect balance of malts and five different hops give this India Pale Ale its edge.  The unique blend of citrus and pine aroma and flavor makes it a very drinkable IPA. Perfect for craft enthusiasts looking for a little more cowbell…  7.6% ABV, 51 IBUs. (FYI, check out their new Longmont tasting location on Terry & 2nd Avenue!)

4 Noses Bout Damn Time: This big American IPA definitely has the hop-head in mind. Loaded with Pacific Northwest hops from the kettle to the fermenter, it packs a massive aroma of bright tropical fruit and refreshing citrus notes. The simplicity of the malt bill allows for a plethora of hop flavors to come through on the pallet, making for an absolutely crushable IPA.  7.1% ABV, 68 IBUs.

Elevation First Cast: This beer is named for the first few moments of joy you get as you begin a great day of fishing on the river. As well, it was our ‘first cast’ into the fantastic Colorado beer scene! Using nearly 2 pounds of hops per barrel, this well balanced IPA has huge notes of grapefruit, citrus and pine, making it our everyday beer of choice.  6% ABV, 60 IBUs.

You choose who goes to the Finals! Happy tasting and good luck!
