Thursday Tasting – Coppola Wines

This Thursday, December 6, Wyatt’s is offering a free tasting of wines from Francis Ford Coppola.

Francis Ford Coppola Winery, which produces several award-winning and consistently dependable vintages for a variety of budgets, including the Director’s, Diamond, and Sophia lines, has been committed to environmentally responsible business practices for over three decades. All of their planted acres are sustainably farmed and part of the California Sustainable Winegrowing Program. They make efforts to purchase fruit from growers who farm sustainably, and some of their source vineyards are certified organic as well.

We will be sampling these selections:

Sofia Blanc de Blanc: Named after Coppola’s daughter, this is a fruity and refreshing sip. Sofia Blanc de Blancs is a rare blend of Pinot Blanc, Muscat, and Riesling. Mellow flavors of apples and pears are topped by a hint of citrus and honeysuckle. Elegant in character, this wine is lightly textured and vibrant through the finish.

Diamond Pavilion Chardonnay: Carefully crafted using barrel fermentation in French Oak, Pavilion is a rich, full-bodied wine with an exotic perfume, silky texture, and luscious flavors of apricot, pear, and passion fruits, draped in spicy vanilla creme.

Diamond Pinot Noir: Sourced from a vineyard just east of the Santa Lucia Highlands in Monterey Country to make a rich, complex, and extremely fruity Pinot Noir. Alluring plum and spice aromas lead to black cherry, currant, and strawberry flavors, a plush texture, and elegant finish.

Diamond Claret: Claret is a term originally coined by the British to describe Cabernet-based wines. This blend is alluring and sophisticated. It is memorably lush with a tapestry of smooth tannins and succulent flavors of wild berries, plum, and anise.

Tasting hours for this event will be from 4-6:45 pm, at Wyatt’s Outlaw Saloon, in the back of the store.
