Saturday Tasting – Odd13 Brewing & Noble Vines Wine
November 4, 2017 @ 12:00 pm - 4:45 pm
This Saturday, November 4, we are offering a special free tasting from Odd13 Brewing and the Noble Vines Wine Collection.
Odd13 is a brewery located at 301 East Simpson Street in old-town Lafayette, Colorado. It was founded by Kristin and Ryan Scott, with the help of understanding family members. Why the name Odd13? Kristin grew up in area code 513 and Ryan grew up in 313. They are best known for their funloving hop combinations and comic book art-style cans.
Wines for the Noble Vines Collection are farmed in cobblestone soils of their family-owned vineyards in Lodi and on the gentle slopes of the cool-climate San Bernabe Vineyard in Monterey, California. Noble Vines pays strict attention to ensuring the land endures for the next century and beyond. With deep roots and family commitment, Noble Vines focuses on superior quality and sustainability to craft their wines.
This Saturday, we will be tasting the following selections:
337 Cabernet: A classic expression from vine stocks originating at the grand chateaus of Bordeaux. Noble Vines 337 Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits lively aromas of black cherry, ripe currant, fresh herbs, and lightly roasted coffee. Supple tannins and balanced acidity its support core flavors of blackberry, black cherry and toasty oak, intertwined with spicy black pepper accents. It is rich and complex, and pairs particularly well with herb roasted pork loin, baked chicken, or barbecued steak and sautéed mushrooms.
446 Chardonnay: 446 Chardonnay exhibits appealing aromas of ripe pear, pineapple, and melon. Medium-bodied with a creamy mid-palate, this delightful wine offers flavors of peach and coconut, with hints of lemon and toasty vanilla spice. Enjoy this wine with friends, on its own or with soft cheeses, seafood, salads, pasta, or roast fowl.
181 Merlot: 181 is classic Merlot, offering softer tannins than Cabernet Sauvignon, but equal elegance and concentration. It opens with aromas of black cherry, vanilla, and toasty spice. Fresh fruit flavors of currant and cherry mingle gently with spicy cedar and vanilla. The wine is supple in texture, full bodied, long and well-balanced on the palate, with a lingering finish. With a gentle balance of tannins and acidity, it is the perfect companion to pasta with sausage and roasted peppers or a pan seared steak with mushrooms and parsley.
242 Sauvignon Blanc: Noble Vines Sauvignon Blanc exhibits vibrant aromas of ripe peach, honeydew melon, and citrus. Medium-bodied with a round mid palate and crisp acidity, this refreshing wine offers flavors of nectarine, melon and a hint of lime zest. 242 descends from the same vine stock that made Sauternes and New Zealand famous.
