Saturday Tasting – Hornitos Tequila with Marco’s Hot Dogs

This Saturday, October 21, Wyatt’s is hosting a free tasting of Hornitos Tequila.

Hornitos  was boldly born in 1950, in honor of Mexican Independence Day. It all began in Jalisco, Mexico, with their founder, Don Francisco, a man who wasn’t shy about taking chances to make great tequila. From creating Reposado before it was even a word, to revolutionizing the agave cooking process, to standing up to the Mexican government and setting new standards for tequila, Hornitos has a tradition of breaking tradition–all in the name of making bettering tequila.

And what would go better with your Hornitos Tequila than food from Marco’s Hot Dogs! This hometown favorite, located on 17th Street, one block west of Main, will be serving Wyatt’s customers from noon-2 pm, in front of the store. We will also have radio station La Tricolor, KXPK 76.5 FM from Evergreen on hand for the festivities.

Sweetening the deal better than a sugar rim, Hornitos also has a free gift for those making a purchase of any 750 ml or larger Hornitos Tequila bottle during the tasting.

This Saturday, we will be tasting the following selections from Hornitos:

Plata: With an unforgettably bold, agave-forward taste, Hornitos Plata delivers a smooth, lively experience that is enjoyable from start to finish. Clear with silver highlights, Plata has an agave forward taste with citrus notes and a floral, fruity aroma with light citrus notes. Its finish is warm and smooth, delivering A Shot Worth Taking™.

Reposado: Boldly born in 1950 to celebrate the anniversary of Mexican independence, Hornitos debuted as a Reposado, one of the first of its kind. Hornitos Reposado presents a pale straw color with an aroma of fine agave, herbal, and green apple notes. It is herbal and apple flavors are balanced with a touch of wood, leading to its medium-bodied, warming, slightly astringent finish.

Black Barrel: Hornitos’ most highly awarded tequila, Black Barrel, starts as a premium, aged Añejo, then spends four months in deep charred oak whiskey barrels to give it rich, smoky flavor and a golden amber color. It spends an additional two months in specially toasted barrels for even more depth and distinct complexity. With a rich, dark amber color, it has an oaky-vanilla aroma with notes of spicy pepper and smoke. An inviting and intricate blend of agave, wood, vanilla, and citrus flavors progress to a clean, smooth finish with slightly lingering notes of caramel, wood, sugar, and oak.

Sauza 100 Años: Rich in color, and rich in taste, this reposado contains hints of agave, oak, and spice. Great for drinking straight and blended in a margarita or other cocktail.

Tasting hours for this free event on Saturday, October 21, 2017, will be from noon-4:45 pm, at Wyatt’s Outlaw Saloon, in the back of the store.

All of this week’s featured items will be on sale!

As always, all participants must present valid I.D.

**COMING SOON–Hornitos Cristalino: This newest addition to the Hornitos line begins with a triple distilled aged Añejo tequila for extra smoothness, then carbon filters it for clarity, nurturing its essential distinctive Añejo notes of vanilla and butterscotch, rounded with the flavor of sweet honey wrapped in toasted wood.
