Along with our Dalmore Scotch sampling this Saturday, November 11, we are offering a special free tasting of luxury wines from France, selected by our wine department.
On Saturday, we will be tasting the following selections:
De Messey Chablis: Made from 100% Chardonnay, its citrus fruit flavors and minerality dominate the palate with a touch of white flowers on the finish. The grapes were handpicked and matured in a mixture of stainless steel tanks for freshness and French oak for roundness and structure.
Chateau Malmaison Moulis-en-Medoc: This wine is very open and dominated by fresh fruit notes of black currant, cherry, and plum with a floral touch. The attack is round, and the tannic structure is quite dense. A good level of natural acidity reinforces its sensation of freshness. 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon.
La Perliere Haut-Cotes Nuits: This wine is bright ruby red with a nose of red fruits, especially red currants and wild strawberries. This region is known for producing Pinots that are full-bodied with powerful flavors and among the most tannic in all of Burgundy.
La Perliere Volnay 1er Cru : Presenting a garnet color, the Volnay 1er Cru “En Chevret” 2011 reveals a floral nose with smoky, toasted notes. Its palate is round and elegant with a smooth, fresh finish. This region produces a slightly more feminine expression of the Pinot Noir that is very aromatic with tannins that are softer than most other Pinot Noirs.
Tasting hours for this free Saturday, November 11, 2017 event will be from noon-4:45 pm, at Wyatt’s Outlaw Saloon, in the back of the store. As always, all participants must present valid I.D.
