UPDATE:
Moshin Wines have been added to this tasting.
Moshin Vineyards and Winery began in 1989 with the Moshin Family’s purchase of a ten-acre Pinot Noir Vineyard located in the Russian River Valley of Sonoma County, California. They specialize in small lot, hand-crafted wines, which include Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot, Petite Sirah and Zinfandel.
This Saturday, we will be sampling the following selections:
Moshin Russian River Chardonnay:
Half tank-fermented and half barrel-fermented, this unique Chardonnay has bright fruit aromas of kiwi and lemon with an underlying minerality. It exhibits flavors of green apple, pineapple, and lemon meringue pie. Delicately balanced with both creamy texture and a racy acidity.
Moshin Sauvignon Blanc:
This Larrick Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc displays aromas of green melon, lilac, lime zest and star fruit. Flavors of honeydew, pomelo, key lime, and Asian pear appear in a full and juicy mid-palate with a delightfully crisp finish. Excellent as a pre-dinner aperitif or an accompaniment for salads and shellfish.
Moshin Pinot Noir, Molinari Vineyard:
This Sonoma County Single Vineyard Pinot Noir has a medium ruby color. Its aroma is cherry forward with much raspberry and earthy, herbal notes. Its pallet is ripe with expansive cherry, raspberry, and pomegranate flavors that dominate with supporting notes of black tea and turned earth. It carries a good structure and balance, with a seamless silky texture and a generous finish.
Moshin Potion No. 11:
Moshin Potion No. 11 is a seductive blend of sumptuous nectar made from late harvest Semillion (25%) and Sauvignon Blanc (75%). Golden, alluring and enticingly aromatic, with the accent on juicy peaches, honeysuckle, dried apricots. Sweet but with a clean finish.
