Join us for the fun this Father’s Day weekend as we sample select top shelf Scotch whiskies this Saturday, June 17, from noon-4:45 pm.

This Saturday, we will be tasting the following selections:

Johnnie Walker Platinum Blended Scotch: Johnnie Walker Scotch Platinum Label is an exclusive blend designed to celebrate the finer moments in life. The scotch has an exceptional character and is matured for a minimum of 18 years to create an intense, smooth and subtly smoky flavor.  Johnnie Walker Platinum has a full nose of maraschino cherries, toffee caramel, vanilla, and smoke. The richness continues to the palate with a blend of sweet and warm flavors including malt, oats, vanilla and cinnamon. Blended in limited quantities, Platinum was a Gold Award Winner at the Scotch Whiskey Masters 2015, and won a Silver Medal at the World Whiskies Awards in 2016.

Mortlach Rare Old Single Malt Scotch:  Wyatt’s is proud to offer this hard-to-find Speyside favorite. After being unavailable for a couple years, Mortlach recently re-introduced this super premium single malt. Utilizing  a mixture of Sherry and bourbon casks, the Rare Old is a prime example of the complex, warming, spice side of Mortlach’s personality.  Its nose is full of biscuity nuances, baked apple, and crushed nuts with notes of fudge and leafy herbals.  This leads into a rich, full palate with spicy notes of cinnamon sticks and oak. Vanilla, raisin, and dark jammy touches come into play with a continuation of the earthy, leafy aroma. Its finish delivers a welcome warmth, drying with cinnamon, pepper, and vanilla.

Oban 14 Year Old: The nose of this classic single malt Scotch is rich and smoky. The medicinal notes are quite evident with touches of the sea. There are notes of cut hay and wood smoke rising with a gentle estery sweetness. Its palate is thick and full with notes of citrus with a smooth sweetness. The finish is of good length with fruit and dry oak.

Glenmorangie 10 Year Old: Glenmorangie’s flagship single malt is distilled and matured in Ross-Shire, Scotland since 1843. Perfected by the sixteen men of Tain, Glenmorangie Ten Year Old is renowned the world over for its elegant and floral spirit; a single malt whisky of exquisite finesse and alluring complexity. It carries flavors of honeyed sweetness fused with notes of citrus, vanilla and almonds, making it delicate, alluring and very complex.
