Friday Tasting – Woodford Reserve

July 28, 2017 @ 4:00 pm - 6:45 pm

Join us this Friday, July 28th, for a very special free tasting. In honor of this weekend’s Boulder County Craft Distillers Festival and J.P. Mattingly, Woodford’s ambassador who is conducting a master tasting class at the festival, we are featuring the whiskies of Woodford Reserve.

Woodford Reserve is true Kentucky whiskey, and these samples will prove their depth and flavor.

Friday’s flight includes:

Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon: Woodford’s flagship bourbon is a clean, amber bourbon, with notes of dried fruit, mint, and oranges in its nose and a touch of cocoa and faint vanilla. It is rich and chewy, but smooth and rounded with flavors of cinnamon, toffee, and cocoa. It has a silky smooth finish that is creamy with a lingering, warm tail. 45.2% ABV.

Woodford Reserve Double Oaked Bourbon: Sweet and spicy on the nose, Woodford Reserve Double Oaked offers inviting aromas of vanilla, honey, chocolate and cinnamon with a hint of dried fruit. The palate offers rich flavors of caramel, baked apple, brown sugar and marzipan, which merge with notes of oak, vanilla and honeyed apple on the long finish. Although the oak is certainly pronounced, it accentuates the complex balance of flavors, rather than overwhelming them. 45.2% ABV.

Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey: Specially selected whiskies are infused with the rich flavor of Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla. The result is a uniquely sophisticated whisky, bursting with the bold flavor of vanilla and the distinctive smoothness of Crown Royal. 45.2% ABV.

Woodford Reserve Brandy Cask Finish: As part of their ongoing Master’s Series, Woodford finishes its classic bourbon in brandy casks to accentuate its rich dried fruit and nut characteristics. It has a medley of chocolate, maple, and caramel tones with soft notes of oak and lingering spice. Flavors of toffee-covered dried fruit and toasted hazelnuts lead into a warm, lingering finish.  45.2% ABV.

Tasting hours for this free event on Friday, July 28, 2017, will be from 4:00-6:45 pm, at Wyatt’s Outlaw Saloon, in the back of the store.

All of this week’s featured items will be on sale!

Tickets for the Boulder County Craft Distillers Festival, and the Woodford Master Class, are available at Wyatt’s Wet Goods, 1250 Hover Street in Longmont, at the Village at the Peaks, while supplies last.
