This Friday, October 6, Wyatt’s is offering a free tasting of past GABF Winners from the U.S. and select wines from Natale Verga.
Friday’s beer flight offers a sampling of:
Lunch Break Session IPA (Breakside Brewing): Their hop forward session beer is full of juicy, classic hop flavor with just enough malt backbone to keep things in balance with a heady aromatic mix of orange marmalade, grapefruit, and resin. 4.7% ABV, 285 IBUs.
Mischief (The Bruery): Mischief is a hoppy Belgian-style golden ale with American hops to add a layer of complexity and mystery to its fruity, dry Belgian-style character. Citrus and resin diabolically combine with ripe melon, pear and slight peppery spice in a precariously effervescent mixture. Enjoy it, but you’ll want to keep an eye out. Gold Medal – 2016 Great American Beer Festival, American-Belgo-Style Ale. 8.5% ABV, 35 IBUs.
IPA (Melvin): Regional brewery favorite Melvin serves an IPA that is fruity and intense, but not overly bitter. Satisfying and tough to beat. 7.5% ABV, 80 IBUs.
DBA (Firestone Walker) : a.k.a. Double Barrel Ale, is partially fermented in their patented oak barrel brewing system. Regarded as a California classic, it stands as an iconic tribute to traditional cask fermented English ales. Its pale malts create a smooth middle with ribbons of caramel, English toffee, and toasted oak. 5% ABV, 30 IBUs.
Be sure to come back tomorrow for “Past GABF Winners from Colorado”!
For our wine lovers, we will be tasting select wines from Natale Verga:
Nero D’Avola: a wonderful, affordable wine with good structure and depth. It carries flavors of cherry, plum and raspberry with a medium weight palate.
Barola: Clean with a pure fruity aroma and a rich sweetness with spice, this wine tastes like a basket full of black cherries. Vibrant and ripe for early drinking, it has lots of structure and aging potential. A terrific value!
Governo Toscano: This blend of Sangiovese, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon dates back to the most ancient traditions of Tuscan farmers. Part of the grapes planted before harvest are added to wine during fermentation, to give it more softness and enhance its bouquet. Intense red color, fruity notes, and round aromas are the distinctive characteristics of this wine. It is fresh, harmonic and savory on the palate. It sports a bing cherry nose, and light crispness due to the Governa process. A fantastic wine that you can chill for any occasion.
Prosecco: Natale Verga’s sparkling offering is dry, lemony, and bubbly with overtones of almond and honey. Chill it down and serve as an aperitif. Pairs well with calamari, crabmeat dishes, and spring mix salads.
Tasting hours for this free event on Friday, October 6, 2017, will be from 4:00-6:45 pm, at Wyatt’s Outlaw Saloon, in the back of the store.
