Friday Tasting – Firestone Walker Brewing & Natale Verga Wine

This Friday, July 14, Wyatt’s is offering a free tasting of the Firestone Walker Brewing Company and select wines from Natale Verga.

For the beer lovers, we are offering the #opPOURtunity to sample selections from Firestone Walker, California’s fourth largest craft brewery, who is known for producing full-flavored hoppy ales.

Friday’s beer flight offers a sampling choice of four of the following:

Easy Jack Session IPA: Brewed and dry hopped with a globetrotting selection of newer hop varieties from Germany, New Zealand, and North America, this beer delivers massive hop aromas, a surprising dimension, a signature malt balance, and an empty glass before you know what hits you. 4.5% ABV, 45 IBUs.

Pale 31: This classic California Pale Ale exhibits beautiful floral and citrus hop aromas with undertones of lightly toasted malt. Crisp pale and crystal malts offer a hint of sweetness. Subtle hop bitterness offers a refreshing finish. 4.9% ABV, 38 IBUs.

Pivo Hoppy Pils: This traditionally rendered pilsner offers a West Coast dry hopping twist, showcasing stylistic influences from Germany, Italy, and the Czech Republic. It has impeccable balance with floral aromatics, spicy herbal nuances, with bergamot zest and lemongrass notes from dry hopping with German Saphir hops. 5.3% ABV, 40 IBUs.

Union Jack IPA: Union Jack rings all the bells of an aggressively hopped West Coast IPA, but with an astonishing balance that stands out from the crowd. This originator of Firestone Walker’s “Jack” IPA family is double dry‐hopped to create bold grapefruit, tangerine and citrus flavors, all contrasted by pale malt sweetness to rein in the intensity. 7.5% ABV, 70 IBUs.

DBA: a.k.a. Double Barrel Ale, is partially fermented in their patented oak barrel brewing system. Regarded as a California classic, it stands as an iconic tribute to traditional cask fermented English ales. Its pale malts create a smooth middle with ribbons of caramel, English toffee, and toasted oak. 5% ABV, 30 IBUs.

Luponic Distortion: This latest version in their revolving hop is driven by a mix of five different hop varieties, led by an emerging American cultivar from the Yakima region. Together, these hops deliver a complex spectrum of ripe tropical fruit aromas with notes of guava, mango, pineapple, orange, blackberry, green tea, and Meyer lemon. In true Luponic Distortion fashion, its bitterness is moderate but snappy, with a balance of light malted bread sweetness and a soft mouthfeel. 5.9% ABV, 59 IBUs.
