This weekend, local Longmont brewery favorite Wibby releases their fourth canned beer, Moondoor Dunkel.
Following the successful recent release of Wibtoberfest, an Oktoberfest lager and their first seasonal release, Wibby is now offering Moondoor Dunkel.
Moondoor Dunkel is a dark lager, brewed with chocolate male and cocoa nibs for a velvety, chocolate flavor. It is supple and crisp, sporting a deep brown color with an enticing beige head. Its aroma carries notable elements of cocoa and roasted grain.
Moondoor’s taste packs notes of toasted malt, chocolate, and toffee with a slight touch of vanilla, delivered in a clean, creamy, smooth mouthfeel within a quaffable medium body. It has an ABV of 5.5%, and 25 IBU’s, making it a less filling option for winter drinking.
It is also ideal with meaty dishes and seasonal vegetables. Try it with a hearty autumn stew, roast fingerling potatoes, or Brussel sprouts with a touch of bacon.
While you’re here, pick up some of their flagship IPL and Lightshine Helles, too. 
Wibby IPL is a hoppy red lager with a fragrant, citrusy hop aroma and a smooth malt finish. It makes an ideal session drinking beer and is considered a smoother version of most craft India Pale Ales. It is 7.5% alcohol by volume with a hop rating of 76 IBUs. (The IBUs in beer refers to the International Bitterness Unit scale which is the standard for measuring the amount of hops in beer.)
Wibby Lightshine Helles is a light, sweetly finishing, Bavarian influenced lager that fits well with the warm days ahead. It has a clear, golden yellow appearance, accompanied by a lightly laced white head. It has a bit more malt than the average pilsner, with a slightly toasted tone and refreshing sweetness. Lightshine is 5.5% ABV, with a milder hop profile of 22 IBUs.
Tasting hours for the free Wibby release of Moondoor Dunkel this Friday, October 21, 2016 will be from 4-7 pm, at Wyatt’s Outlaw Saloon, in the back of the store.
